Redwood Free Market

Location: Rachel Carson College Cafe (College Eight Cafe)

Hours (Food Distributions): Mondays 5-8PM, Tuesdays 5-7:30PM, Thursdays 6-8PM, Saturdays 12-3PM

Hours (Food Distributions for Graduate Students Only): Wednedays 2-5PM

Hours (Coffee Time): Tuesdays and Wednesdays 8:30-10:30AM

  • Features produce, dry goods, and CalFresh information
  • We are a choice-based no limits pantry so take what you need with your Student ID! No appointments are needed but masks and social distancing are required
  • How does it work?
      • All you need is your student ID! 
      • First time visitors for this school year will fill out the First Time Intake Form which is standard across multiple distribution sites 
      • Already filled out the First Time Intake Form somewhere else? Awesome! Just input your Student ID and location, and you are good to go

Produce Pop-Up

Location: Quarry Plaza

Hours: Wednesdays 12-4:30PM

Pop-Up acquires organic produce from the UCSC Farm and other local organic farms and aims to make this produce affordable and accessible to UCSC students. For the 2021-2022 school year, Produce Pop-Up is returning to a low-cost farmstand model open to the entire campus community and will be popping up at different locations around campus twice a week with produce grown by students at the on-campus farm.

The Market Match Program is available at the Westside Santa Cruz, Live Oak, and Felton markets and offers farmers’ market customers with CalFresh (EBT/SNAP) cards a dollar-for-dollar match up to ten dollars; these matching dollars can be used to purchase fresh vegetables and fruits. To learn more about this program at the Santa Cruz Farmers Market Association, please visit the Santa Cruz Farmers Market website

Cowell Coffee Shop

Location: Near the Cowell/Stevenson Dining Hall

Hours: Monday to Friday from 7:30AM - 3:30PM (Beginning September 27)

Cowell Coffee Shop is a student-run cafe designed to increase food security by providing free food to all students. The CCS Soft Re-Opening will be on September 27 with hours shown above. Offerings will include custom made bowls from our new Chowbotics unit, fresh pressed juices, coffee, food recovery items from our campus and community partners, and more!

SUA Food Pantry & Lounge

Location: Athletics and Recreation Front Office (Across from Pool)

Hours: TBD

  • Produce, ready-to-eat meals, non-perishables, snacks, coffee, and tea
  • Microwave available for use
  • Current UCSC Student ID necessary to receive food
